Our retreat is set amongst a tapestry of natural wonders, each element playing a part in your rest retreat:

• Wide sandy shoreline: A long, open beach where the Pacific rolls in steadily, creating a constant rhythm of waves and salt air, grounding you in the present.
• Protective reef and lagoon: One of the largest reef systems on the lower North Island forms a natural barrier offshore, creating a calmer lagoon that reflects the sky and softens the ocean’s force, offering a peaceful space for reflection.
• Sand dunes and coastal grasses: Low dunes line parts of the beach, shaped by strong coastal winds and dotted with hardy native plants that anchor the shifting sand, inviting mindful observation.
• Castle Rock and limestone cliffs: Behind the settlement rises Castle Rock, a dramatic limestone outcrop with weathered formations carved over millions of years, inspiring awe and a sense of timelessness.
• Rock pools and marine life: At low tide the reef exposes tidal pools where shells, seaweed, and small marine creatures gather, encouraging connection with the intricate details of nature.
• Expansive skies and sea air: With little development around it, the horizon feels vast. Wind, salt air and open sky create a raw, restorative coastal atmosphere, clearing your mind and invigorating your senses.
